Hermes 3000 Manual Typewriter Ready to Type
The 3000 was an instant success and widely popular in the u. S and international markets in the 1950s and 60s. Feature for feature, this is one of the most sophisticated manual portable typewriters ever made. This is a typewriter that many revere as the most luscious ever created, a dream machine that came in such spiffy colors as seafoam green or lustrous ivory. This machine is ready to type, it has been cleaned, serviced, and adjusted to factory specs. The feed rollers have been cleaned or replaced as necessary and any worn or damaged parts were repaired or replaced. The typewriter body has 100% original color from the factory and the machine has been thoroughly tested. A brand new black/red cotton ribbon installed is freshly installed. All this work guarantees you years of trouble-free operation. Protecting it is a nifty lid that snaps down over the machine onto a base upon which the typewriter sits, and inside the case is a copy of the owner’s manual and a new, spare ribbon. The aluminum case has just a handful of scuffs, scrapes, and dings – it isn’t known as a panzer case for nothing. The machine inside has been lovingly used and cared for as you can see in the pictures. I’d rate it cosmetically a 9 on a 10 scale – almost a collector’s item and a workhorse that is ready to serve another 50 years of duty. What you see is the second body style fitted in the original aluminum carrying case.
