A fully restored and working Aldis 300 slide projector. Upgraded to LED light source.
The british made aldis 300 is one of the most popular slide projectors ever made. It was used in schools and colleges as well as thousands of homes. With our full led upgrade, this projector is just as bright with an 11 watt led light engine as it was with its original 300 watt bulb. Specifications: power supply 230v. Light source: 995 lumen 11 watt led light engine. On board led driver. On board power switch. Upgrading a slide projector involves replacing the old energy-hungry bulb. These bulbs were expensive to run, dangerously hot and didn’t last long. Also, they are no longer made. The new bulb is a modern, cool running led light engine. The led light engines we use in these projectors are 11 watts, 995 lumens. They run cool and cost very little to use. They are as bright and as good at projecting slides as the old bulbs. See the side by side comparison photos. The left hand photo is with a 300 watt bulb and the right is with an 11 watt led light engine. Even though we upgrade the light source, we keep the projectors as original as possible. We repair them and touch up the paintwork rather than trying to make them look like new. The original reflectors and lenses are kept, and the projector is still a collectable antique. Here’s what we do. The old wiring, bulb and bulb holder are removed, and the fan is disconnected. Any repairs needed are done. The paintwork is cleaned with repainting where needed. The projector is rewired, and safety earth connections are added. We install a new led light engine, tailored to that model of projector. Fabric covered mains flex is installed, with an in-line switch if needed. A new uk 13 amp plug with 3 amp fuse is fitted. All mains projectors are pat (safety) tested before leaving us.
